President Donald Trump experienced a brief slip on the stairs of Air Force One at New Jersey on Sunday, immediately after severe rainstorms pounded the Bedminster region.
The moment was caught on video, and within no time, it was trending online, with lots of people paying attention to see him compared to what had happened in the past, involving former President Joe Biden.
Another said, "Donald Trump just tripped on Airforce One stairs and nearly fell on his face! Where is Jake Tapper and all the media that used to inform us every time Biden lost a step?"
Another added, "Trump stumbles boarding Air Force One. Joe Biden vibes or perhaps traits of body double.
A third said, "Donald Trump trips over the same group of steps that Joe Biden stepped over. According to MAGA's standards, Trump must resign as president right now."
Joining the deluge of responses, someone wrote, "President Trump trips going up the stairs of Air Force One. Lol, all those MAGA dudes who memed Biden for doing this are punching the air in their rooms right now."
President Biden, in his time in office, also made a few highly publicized stumbles getting on to Air Force One. At one such episode in February of 2024, when he was about to take off for Los Angeles, Biden saluted military personnel at the bottom of the stairs at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Halfway up, he stumbled, caught his handrail for support, and again stumbled before continuing.
Something similar happened in February 2023 as Biden was returning from a three-day tour of Eastern Europe to commemorate the anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war. While boarding an airplane at Chopin Airport in Warsaw, Poland, he slipped but regained composure immediately, climbed on up the stairs, and waved at the crowd before boarding the aircraft.
